About Kathryn E Wheeler

Hello, my name is Kathryn E. Wheeler, and I am an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida. I received my undergraduate degree from Florida State University and my medical doctorate from St. George’s University. I completed my pediatric residency and a chief residency year at the University of Florida, followed by a year of fellowship training in Pediatric Hematology Oncology at Duke University.

After completing my training, I practiced as a general pediatrician for several years in North Carolina and Nashville, Tennessee. I also spent two years as a hospitalist in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Vanderbilt University. In 2015, I returned to my home state of Florida and was excited to rejoin my friends and colleagues in the General Pediatrics Division at the University of Florida.

My practice includes providing general healthcare for children from birth through age 21, managing both routine health maintenance visits and acute and chronic illnesses. I enjoy developing lasting relationships with my patients and their families, helping them achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle. I am also a strong advocate for disease prevention through immunization.
