About Matthew C Minnette
Hello, my name is Dr. Matthew Minnette, and I’m a pediatrician here at UF Health.
I’ve always had a strong desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, especially for children facing complex health challenges. This passion is rooted in my own health struggles as a child, which led me to pursue a career in pediatric health. My interest in helping children with chronic or complex conditions drew me to the Pediatric Care Coordination Program. I love being part of a team that makes a tangible impact on these families by coordinating care across specialties and improving long-term outcomes.
As a physician, my main goal is to provide compassionate, patient-centered care that addresses both the medical and emotional needs of the families I serve. In my new role as medical director, I aim to improve care coordination for our most vulnerable pediatric patients, ensuring they receive comprehensive, seamless care that enhances their quality of life.
I believe in fostering a collaborative relationship with both my patients and their families, with open communication and trust at the core. I’m committed to ensuring families feel supported and well-informed every step of the way as we work together to achieve the best possible outcomes for their child.
I was born and raised in Indiana, where I completed my undergraduate and graduate education at Indiana University, earning my bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and my Master’s in cellular and integrative physiology. I graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 2019. I completed my residency in Pediatrics at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis Missouri.
I have a diverse background in pediatric clinical care, shaped by a variety of prior work experiences. My clinical interests are particularly focused on the newborn nursery/neonatal intensive care unit and acute/emergency medicine. Through hands-on experience across different hospital settings and age groups, I have developed a strong foundation in managing pediatric patients with confidence and skill. These experiences have equipped me with the versatility to effectively address a wide range of pediatric health needs.
My time in medical school is also where I met my lovely wife, and we are now happily married. Outside of my professional passions, I am an avid sports enthusiast. Some of my favorite teams include the Arsenal Gunners, Green Bay Packers, Indiana Hoosiers, and the New York Yankees. In my free time, I enjoy staying active by hiking, running, swimming, and cycling. I also have a love for culinary pursuits – whether it be brewing espresso, baking, or grilling, you can often find me in or around the kitchen.
